Answers to questions you might have about the HERO system.
HERO is real-time decision aid and monitoring system for law enforcement. State and local police departments, sheriff departments, federal law enforcement agencies, private security, university police, and other law enforcement agencies that utilize handcuffs are all candidates to use HERO.
Users receive alerts from HERO both on-site and remote. On-site, the HERO hardware provides real-time audio and visual alerts (devices illuminate green, yellow, or red) to officials on the scene. Using a wireless connection, HERO software provides the same alerts to users accessing the application via desktop or mobile devices.
HERO hardware can be retrofitted on most standard handcuffs.
HERO is designed to have minimal impact to how officers have been trained to apprend individuals. Devices should only be powered on once handcuffs have been secured.
Security is our top priority. HERO uses end-to-end encryption, secure data centres, and regular security audits to ensure data is protected at all times. All data is anonymized and stored based on each department's data retention rules.
HERO is a decision aid and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition.
HERO is not invasive and creates skin-contact using a patented design.
